The Concept at a Glance

Geo-Anchored Beacons

Geo-Anchored Beacons are placed by users and viewed in-app. Beacons are customizable; they can be shared with individuals, targeted demographics, or made public. Users can set the visible range and aesthetics of a Beacon’s appearance. Beacons are ephemeral in nature, decaying after a set time, allowing for real-time, "in the moment” content.

Augmented Reality

Technology is awesome, and connects us more than ever… but there is still a need to be out in the “real world.” Skidattl lives in Augmented Reality, where digital images are attached to physical positions in the world, but can only be viewed through your screen with a pass-through view. Think Pokémon Go, but for finding friends, activities, and local events near you.

Peer-to-Peer

Skidattl connects users to their friends, allowing them to place and share Beacons with individual users, groups, or to make them public. Peer-to-Peer Beacons can be used to help find your friends at a music festival, leave messages attached to physical locations, plan to meet at an event/activity, etc.

Business to User

Beacons can be placed by businesses that are looking to showcase real-time events. This could be a bowling alley showcasing available lanes after a last-minute cancellation, the secret entrance to a local speakeasy, or a restaurant hosting a limited, real-time discount for a group passing by.

Business Beacons provide hyper-targeted, proximity-based advertising that can be created and customized in real-time to interact with the real people looking to use your business.
